This qualitative study explores the integration of Artificial Intelligence in educational assessments, focusing on how it supports formative and summative assessment practices. The study investigates how AI tools are used, perceived benefits, challenges faced, and pedagogical implications through in-depth interviews with educators and school administrators and AI experts. Key findings indicate that AI supports timely feedback and personalized learning, among other things, in formative assessment, while also aiding large-scale grading, improving objectivity and efficiency, reducing bias, and carrying out performance analytics in summative assessments. However, several concerns about ethical data usage, algorithmic transparency, and teacher preparedness remain persistent barriers. The study concludes by giving a framework for responsible AI integration into assessment strategies in modern education and underlines implications for educational policy, pedagogy, and teacher training.
