AI-powered writing tools like ChatGPT have changed academic publication. This study examines dual effects of academic AI usage. First, letting AI edit, paraphrase, and publish without human approval raises ethical issues. The rise of AI-generated peer reviews also compromises academic evaluations. This qualitative, opinion-based, and experiential study examines how artificial intelligence (AI) is changing academic publication. The results suggest that few authors and peer reviewers use AI chatbots to compose submissions automatically or deliver quick, repetitive comments. These tactics damage peer review, academic integrity, and research quality. Academic publishers, institutes, and journal editors need AI ethics to address these challenges. AI's ability to disrupt publication affects academic writing and grading. Future AI-era research should examine ethical standards, regulatory frameworks, and innovative ways to maintain academic credibility. This study on AI and academic discourse would help stakeholders navigate academic publishing's ever-changing challenges.
