Abstract

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has emerged as a critical framework for examining the responsibilities of businesses beyond profit-making, particularly in relation to human rights. This research explores the intersection between CSR and human rights law, highlighting how voluntary corporate initiatives can complement, reinforce, or sometimes fall short of binding legal obligations. The study investigates the extent to which CSR practices contribute to the protection of fundamental rights, focusing on issues such as labor standards, environmental justice, and non-discrimination. It also examines the challenges of relying on voluntary measures in contexts where legal enforcement is weak or absent. For this study, a qualitative research design adopted, focusing on doctrinal and socio‑legal analysis. By analyzing global case studies and legal instruments, the research evaluates the effectiveness of CSR in promoting accountability and ethical conduct within corporate structures. Ultimately, the study aims to provide recommendations for integrating CSR more closely with human rights law, ensuring that corporate actors play a proactive role in advancing social justice and sustainable development.
