Abstract

This paper challenges the traditional understanding that there is one objective Universe and proposes that it actually has the potential to exist in the context of the subjective, as it is shaped by the perceptions of the individual’s consciousness. Within the context of the post-truth world of disjointed truths and belief systems, there arises the new idea of the concept of the “Perceptual Multiverse,” in which the belief that everybody has the capacity to construct their own Universe based on the experiences that exist within the context of the Personal Info-Bubble from the Info Verse. This paper illustrates, from the perspective of multi-disciplinary studies, the impact that the world of Social Media has upon the concept of the Perceptual Multiverse. This particular article utilizes philosophical concepts including solipsism and phenomenology to support the argument about the nature of reality being pluralistic and constantly changing. At the end of the article, the argument is made that even when the various realities are lost after the point of death, the impact is yet to be felt because of the collective knowledge. This particular discussion about realities is emphasized by the premise of empathy and understanding being essential to navigate the ever-divided society which is being characterized by subjective realities.
