This research examines the evolution and impact of Pakistan's foreign policy in light of new global and regional settings. The backdrop of this study is the shifting geopolitical landscape, including the changing dynamics of Pakistan’s relations with key global players such as the United States, China, and neighboring countries in South Asia. The objective is to analyze the recent adjustments in Pakistan's foreign policy, particularly in response to emerging international and regional challenges, such as economic instability, security concerns, and diplomatic shifts.
A quantitative approach was adopted to assess the changing patterns in Pakistan's foreign relations through a survey of political analysts, diplomatic reports, and statistical data on foreign trade, aid, and defense collaborations. The data were analyzed using regression models to understand the relationship between Pakistan’s foreign policy decisions and global trends.
The findings indicate a clear trend towards a more diversified foreign policy, with increased alignment towards China and other regional powers, while maintaining strategic relations with traditional allies. Moreover, economic diplomacy has become a focal point of Pakistan’s foreign interactions, marking a shift towards addressing internal economic challenges through external partnerships.
The implications of this research suggest that Pakistan's foreign policy is increasingly influenced by economic and security imperatives rather than solely ideological or strategic alliances. The conclusion emphasizes the need for Pakistan to further adapt its foreign policy to an evolving international order, with a focus on strengthening economic diplomacy and regional cooperation.
