Abstract

What This Book Means by Spiritual Islamic Reiki

The phrase Spiritual Islamic Reiki can easily create confusion. Reiki began in Japan and is commonly described as a hand-based complementary practice. Islamic spiritual life, by contrast, is grounded in worship of Allah, the Qur’an, the Sunnah, and a clear distinction between the Creator and creation. Joining the two terms therefore requires care. This book does not present Reiki as an Islamic ritual, a form of revelation, or a substitute for ruqyah, salah, du’a, medical care, or psychotherapy. It presents a modest, ethically bounded method of quiet presence, slow breathing, consent-based touch or no-touch hand placements, and faith-sensitive reflection.
