IDENTITY CRISIS AND MENTAL HEALTH AMONG GEN Z

Abstract

This study examined the relationship between Identity Crisis and Mental Health among Generation Z (born between 1997 and 2012). This study employed quantitative research design for data collection. Data were collected from 125 people aged between 18 to 29, which include college and university students as well as some working persons using validated scales including Mental Health Continuum - Short Form (MHC-SF) and Objective Measure of Ego Identity Status (OMEIS) for measuring Mental Health and Identity Crisis. Results revealed significant negative correlation between identity crisis and mental health. The whole results showed the importance of identity formation for Gen Z in navigating their mental health consequences.
