Abstract

The rapid growth of digital technologies has transformed how organizations manage employee and customer experiences and evaluate organizational and marketing performance. This review examines the relationship between Employee Experience (EX) and Customer Experience (CX) in the digital era, with particular emphasis on the role of artificial intelligence, automation, data analytics, personalization, and digital communication. Recent literature indicates that positive employee experiences can enhance engagement, productivity, retention, innovation, and service quality, while positive customer experiences can strengthen satisfaction, loyalty, engagement, and brand outcomes. The literature also demonstrates that EX and CX are interconnected, as employee well-being, organizational culture, and workplace practices can influence customer interactions and service delivery. Digital transformation presents challenges including digital fatigue, technology adoption, data privacy, cybersecurity, and the risk of reduced human interaction. Emerging approaches such as AI-driven experience management, predictive analytics, hyper-personalization, and human–AI collaboration provide new opportunities for improving organizational experiences. This study highlights the importance of integrating employee- and customer-centered strategies with digital technologies. Organizations that effectively balance technological innovation with human-centered practices can improve service quality, strengthen employee and customer relationships, and support sustainable organizational and marketing performance in an increasingly digital business environment.
